This investigation of the lower Minnesota River and its tributaries form Carver Rapids to the Mississippi River was conducted for use in planning, and to provide the basis for classification and adoption of water quality standards. The report includes information on background (Water Pollution Control Commission policies and previous river surveys), discharges into the river (sewage and industrial wastes), the river (geology and soils), surrounding land uses (agricultural, industrial, and recreational), uses of the river (transportation, fishing, waste disposal, and boating), pollution conditions, and tributaries. Resulting analytical data (from water chemistry and biology), summary and conclusions, and a recommendation in support of adopting water quality classifications and standards are also included.
