The project area is the Lake Hendricks lakeshed which includes minor watersheds 24069 and 24070 located within the Lac qui Parle River Major Watershed. Lake Hendricks is located on the Minnesota/South Dakota border. A large portion of the Lake Hendricks lakeshed is located in South Dakota.
The Hendricks Lake project was completed through the MPCA - Lake Assessment Program (LAP) in 1989. A LAP report includes general information about a lake's trophic status, factors (such as land cover/land use or point source pollution potential) affecting nutrient input to the lake, fisheries health, water quality, historical trend analysis, and watershed assessment modeling. This LAP is a cooperative effort of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), South Dakota Department of Water and Natural Resources, and the Lake Hendricks Improvement Association.

Analysis of samples included the following parameters: nutrients, color, solids, pH, alkalinity, turbidity, conductivity, chloride, chlorophyll, temperature, dissolved oxygen and transparency measurments. |
