The project area is the Dutch Creek Watershed (minor watershed 30072) located in the Blue Earth River Major Watershed within Martin County.

Martin County Environmental Services received a Board of Water and Soil (BWSR) Challenge Grant in 1998 to study the Dutch Creek Watershed as a major contributor of sediment and nutrient loading to the Fairmont Chain of Lakes. A survey of the creek corridor was completed in 1998 and surface water monitoring is planned for the 1999 and 2000 sampling seasons.


Data Summary Dutch Creek Watershed Project includes data gathered by Martin County Environmental Services concerning erosion sites, surface drain and tile outlets to the creek, dump sites, and best management practices (BMPs) needed along the corridor of Dutch Creek.
