Video Text: "We grow primarily soybeans and corn. We used to grow wheat. Of course in the 1950s, my dad was more diversified than that. He had some oats and he had some flax and he also had wheat and barley and corn and soybeans. That’s when we had some livestock but over the years what’s really happened is and why we do grow corn and soybeans primarily today is because, I’ll just simply say, it works. Those crops are very well adapted to this area as they are to a lot of places in the upper Midwest or in the Great Plains. There has been a lot of work development, genetic work with those two crops subsequently because of that. You won’t see too much wheat here anymore although it certainly grows here, but there has been little development in wheat."
