This report contains the results of a stream survey, conducted during the summers from 1978 to 1982, to collect baseline data on the fish and wildlife resources of the Minnesota River. It includes a description of the physical characteristics of the river watershed, water quality, water uses, aquatic and terrestrial vegetation, wildlife fisheries, and invertebrates. Study conclusions presented include the exacerbation of stream-bank erosion by agricultural encroachment. Recommendations offered include the implementation and enforcement of appropriate land-use practices.
