The following are types of hazardous waste sites in Minnesota: Voluntary Investigation and Cleanup (VIC) Sites (searchable on the MPCA website); Brownfields (abandoned, idled, or underused industrial and commercial properties where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by actual or suspected environmental contamination); Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Information System (CERCLIS) Sites (federally listed, potential or actual hazardous waste sites which are candidates for addition to the federal and state Superfund list); and Permanent List of Priorities (PLP) Sites (state listing of verified hazardous waste sites which represent a threat to public health or the environment).
