The Minnesota River Citizen's Advisory Committee is composed of the Minnesota River Basin residents and experts from government agencies. the committee was formed to assist the MPCA in developing viable options for the improvement of the Minnesota River Basin.Their recommendations included the following: Restoration of floodplains, riparian zones, and wetlands. Management of drainage networks and storm sewers and tributaries. Improvement of land management practices. Continued water quality monitoring throughout the Minnesota River Basin. Establishment of a Minnesota River commission to oversee the cleanup effort. Establishment of a local joint powers agreement. Improvement of technical assistance to local government agencies. Involvement of the general public. Enforcement of existing laws.
