Gather with friends, neighbors and others to enjoy the natural wonders and beauty of the winter season. On January 23rd (Saturday), Minneopa State Park is holding its annual Winter Fest from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Group Campground off of Highway 68.
Come out to enjoy two candle lit trails marked for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and walkers cutting through a floodplain forest. One candle lit trail will lead down to the confluence with Minneopa Creek and the Minnesota River. A blazing bonfire along with hot cocoa and cookies will be part of this festive, family friendly event.
The event will take place even if there is no snow on the ground. Bring along items to roast in the campfire (roasting sticks will be provided).
Sponsored by the Friends of Minneopa, this nonprofit, volunteer organization of citizens strives to preserve, manage and promote the resources of this state park. Check out their website: http://mrbdc.mnsu.edu/sites/mrbdc.mnsu.edu/files/public/org/fom/index.html
