Going for a snowshoe hike is a wonderful way to enjoy winter and a landscape covered in snow. Come out to Minneopa State Park on December 19th (Saturday) at 1 p.m. to take a hike across the snow-covered terrain as a way to embrace this season's natural environment.
On this hike the Minneopa Area Naturalist will share some of the history of snowshoeing, tips on the different types of snowshoes, and fun places at Minneopa State Park to go snowshoeing.
This sport is one of the simplest and safest ways to get outdoors during the winter. Meet at the Group Campground on the Campground side of Minneopa State Park. Snowshoes can be rented at Minneopa State Park by calling 507-389-5464 or stopping off at the office. If there isn’t enough snow it will become a hike.
