What lives in the Creek

Saturday, June 8, 2013
7:00 p.m.

Minneopa Creek begins its journey to the Minnesota River on the former tall-grass prairie before making a spectacular fall of 40 plus feet at Minneopa State Park.  A wide variety of life can be found in the last two miles of the creek as it cuts through the Minnesota River Valley including a numerous species of fish, macroinvertebrates and other aquatic organisms.  To give a hands-on perspective of Minneopa Creek we will take a round-trip hike of around a mile down to the confluence with the Minnesota River.  Please meet at the picnic area on the campground side of Minneopa State Park.
