Rural Advantage, Seven Story Farm, and the Minnesota Honey Producers Association invite you to the Seven Story Farm near Belle Plaine on Tuesday, August 30th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. to learn more about bees and other pollinators and the challenges they face.
The American Honey Princess, Allison Adams from Plano, Texas, will discuss the importance of honeybees in agriculture and talk on issues beekeepers are facing with declines in managed honey bees, as well as what urban and rural landowners can do to enhance habitat for pollinators.
Darrel Rufer, Executive Director of the MN Honey Producers organization will provide a beekeepers perspective to the issues discussed and explain how beekeepers go about the business of pollination.
Jeff Jensen with Rural Advantage will discuss their ECoPayPack Pollinator Credit established at Seven Story Farm. Heidi Morlock, farm owner, will lead the group on a tour of the pollinator plot and farm. The pollinator credit compensates growers for providing high quality, year-round habitat to bees and other pollinators. This is an outdoor event. Please dress accordingly.
