The Development of the Recreational and Environmental Resources of the Upper Minnesota River Valley

Prepared for the Minnesota River Valley Task Force, this report presents a plan for recreational development and environmental preservation in the upper Minnesota river Valley. Background sections cover geological development, historical events, ecological features, demography, water and land-resource agencies, and relevant legislation. The potential recreational and environmental-education uses of the river valley are explored, including trails (biking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowmobile), campsites, interpretive areas, and learning sites. A bibliography and historical chronology are appended.
