The project area includes minor watersheds located within the following counties: Big Stone, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, McLeod, Pope, Renville, Stearns and Swift.

The Manure Management Implementation Project is a University of Minnesota-Extension project funded in 1993 through MPCA 319 and Clean Water Act monies. The project assists in the development of manure management plans, operates manure demonstration and application research sites, provides educational programs for agriculture professionals in MAP, assists in the implementation of manure management practices, and evaluates impacts of various educational programs.
