Wonderful World of Wetlands

Friday, June 6, 2014
7:00 p.m.

Wetlands are more than swamps or smelly bodies of water collecting trash and breeding mosquitoes.  At one time thousands of wetlands of all sizes were an integral part of the tall-grass prairie landscape in the Minnesota River Basin.  Benefits of wetlands can run the gambit like providing water storage, improving water quality and critical wildlife habitat.  Come out to Flandrau State Park to learn about some of the cool creatures and plants that live in wetlands and take a hike around one.  Meet at the playground at the Day Use Area near the swimming pond.
