Day in the Life of a Pioneer Woman

Pioneer women were an important part of the development of the territory of Minnesota and the state. The women of that time worked along side of their men while performing the duties of the house as well, sewing, cooking, cleaning, gardening, child-rearing. Life was not easy for the women of the prairie. Through various displays, see how the pioneer women lived, from the basic housekeeping to entertainment. The Harkin Store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays with programs on Sundays 1-4 p.m. There is an admission charge which includes the displays and a tour of the store. The gift shop is open the same hours and has a discount in the shop.
