Saturday, September 21, 2013
7:00 p.m.

Come out to Fort Ridgely State Park for a naturalist-led hike through the historic cemetery.  The military post Fort Ridgely dates back to the 1853 when it was constructed in the 1850's overlooking the Minnesota River.  Fort Ridgely played a key role in the U.S. Dakota War of 1862 when it was attacked twice.  We will take a stroll among the diverse variety of headstones and grave markers and talk about the significance and history of cemeteries in the United States.  Meet at the Upper Picnic Area.
