We will take a walking tour to learn how the impact of the 1930's Great Depression still resonates at Fort Ridgely State Park. To put people back to work President Roosevelt created programs like the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and Veterans Conservation Corp (VCC) through his groundbreaking New Deal. Young men formed into companies were put to work building structures found at Fort Ridgely and many other Minnesota state parks. Many of these features are still being used today by park visitors. Meet at the Upper Picnic Area.
