Bike Tour

9:00 a.m.

Go for a leisurely bike ride from Minneopa State Park out to Red Jacket Park, a scenic spot on the Le Sueur River, and back on the South Trail Route.  This is an 8.5 mile round trip that should take a couple of hours.  This asphalt surface trail has a number of steep inclines as it moves downward into the Blue Earth River Valley.  Red Jacket Park is named for the 550-foot former railroad bridge.  We will stop a number of times on the way to enjoy the view and talk about some of the interesting characteristics of the Blue Earth River Basin and its relationship to the Minnesota River.  Helmets are required and please bring water and an extra tube for your bike.   We will meet at the Falls parking lot at Minneopa State Park.
