American Bison presentation

Saturday, April 13, 2013
5:00 p.m.

As the largest mammal on the Great Plains, millions of bison once roamed North America and played an integral role in the livelihood of many
American Indian tribes.  The American bison is an animal built to live in harsh conditions.  Join the park naturalist to learn about this iconic North American animal and how we came very close to exterminating them.  Part of the presentation will be an activity called “Build a Bison.”  Please meet at the Picnic Shelter at the Day-Use Area next to the swimming pond.
