Seven
Mile Creek Park, also known as Nicollet County Park, is one of the best
locations for birding in the entire Minnesota River Valley. This is one
of the best destinations for such exciting birds as Scarlet Tanagers, Cerulean
Warblers, and Pileated Woodpeckers. May is probably the best month to look
for migrating birds such as warblers and vireos, but watch for interesting
birds and other wildlife throughout the year. The following is a list of
birds that have been found at Seven Mile Creek Park prepared by Dr. Merrill
Frydendall. Another bird list showing occurrence
was created by Larry Filter and the Mankato Bird Club. For more birding
information, visit the Minnesota
River Valley Birding Trail. |
