Wetland Acres Continue to Increase
The Seven Mile Creek Watershed Project began

 
   
 

By 2002:

  • Wetland acres increase to approximately 1,441 acres;
  • About 50 acres were enrolled into wetland restorations through Minnesota's Reinvent in Minnesota Reserve Program (RIM) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) (see photo at left); however,
  • The dispute over the dam on County Ditch (CD) 46 went to court; and
  • Environmental groups filed a lawsuit against Nicollet County and landowners who proposed a new ditch near CD 58. The ditch proposal failed. Next
