What lives in the river; Mussels

Sunday, August 31, 2014
7:00 p.m.

This is all about those other mussels, not the ones in your arms!  At one time at least 40 freshwater and native mussels were found in the Minnesota River Basin but unfortunately today it has dropped half of that.  Mussels are considered to be the biological indicators of a river’s health and have one of the coolest lifecycles.  In this program we will touch on history of mussels and how they impact water quality.  Plus one lucky person will get the chance to dress up like a mussel.  Meet at the Campground Picnic Shelter.
