High Island Creek watershed is located in the Minnesota River Basin of south central Minnesota and part of the Lower Minnesota Watershed. This agricultural-dominated watershed encompasses 403 square miles in Sibley, Renville and McLeod Counties.

The mission of the High Island Creek Watershed Project is to improve and protect both water quality and quantity while striving to create a sense of watershed stewardship and community pride in clean water.
