The project area includes all minor watersheds within the Cottonwood River Major Watershed.

The Cottonwood River Major Watershed has been an EQIP Conservation Priority Area since 1997. County NRCS Offices administer the EQIP program which provides technical, educational, and fincancial assistance to farmers for the implementation of environmentally friendly farming practices. Individual stream or creek watersheds within the Cottonwood River Watershed have been further designated as priority management areas.
