Blue Earth County participates in the Minnesota State Climatology Office Rain Guage Network. Le Sueur County participates in the Minnesota State Climatology Office Rain Guage Network. Lake Washington Water Quality Improvement Project, Phase I - Diagnostic (CWP) includes precipitation data collected from 1992 - 1994. SCMCCWPP sponsors a volunteer rain guage reader network. This volunteer rain guage reader network reports daily precipitation during the growing season (May through September) to their county Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). These data are sent to the Water Resources Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato, for entry into the Minnesota State Climatology database and for generation of contour precipitation maps. These data have been collected since 1992.
