The gathering and eating of edible mushrooms (a fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus) is a popular activity and one that can be fraught with
danger.  You can get sick from eating mushrooms due to allergic reactions or food poisoning from old or improperly stored ones and mushrooms that are poisonous.  Join local mushroom hunter Ben Prehn and learn some of the places to find mushrooms at Minneopa.  We will talk about some of the more popular edible mushrooms including morels, Chicken of the Woods and Gold Chanterelles along with tips for preparing them.  Meet at the waterfalls side of Minneopa State Park.
