Historic Building Snowshoe Hike

1:00 PM

Come out to Flandrau State Park for a Historic Building Snowshoe Hike on January 9th (Saturday) at 1:00 p.m.  Join Scott Kudelka, Minneopa Area Naturalist to learn about snowshoeing and take a hike around the park to look at the historic buildings.

We will take a snowshoe hike through Flandrau State Park to check out its historic past.  Flandrau was the site of both a Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration camps in the 1930's during the Great Depression.  They are responsible for some of the beautiful and unique buildings found at Flandrau State Park including the Beach House and Caretaker's Residence.

Meet at the Beach House and snowshoes are available for rent at the park office for $6 a pair (please call 507-233-9800).  There is no charge to attend this event, but vehicles are required to have a permit ($5 daily or $25 year-round) which can be purchased at the park.
