Minnesota River Research Forum Summary

Presenters and Topics

This year's Minnesota River Research Forum, held on Thursday, January 29, highlighted relationships between land management practices and water quality at the field, watershed, and basin scale. Participants engaged in spirited discussions over the contribution of streambank erosion to the Blue Earth River’s sediment load, and were presented with new insights about the nature of sediment transport from major tributaries to the Minnesota River. Several presenters discussed research findings showing beneficial effects from nutrient management techniques and practices. The day concluded with widespread interest in holding regularly scheduled forums to cover important and emerging issues affecting the Minnesota River.
